Mild Hybrid (MHEV). A MHEV vehicle works by having a small Electric motor that helps improve efficiency. Mild Hybrid vehicles have two source of power that work together. These two sources are a conventional engine and a battery driven electric motor. The electric motor does not power the car. It simply assists it.
Fiesta
The award-winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine delivers a seamless blend of power and fuel economy. While the new EcoBoost Hybrid features an electric motor to boost power whilst minimising emissions. And with sophisticated driving dynamics, this is the car that delivers a rewarding, no compromise driving experience.
The Fiesta EcoBoost Hybrid engine uses a small electric motor with a 48-volt battery to improve efficiency. Instead of driving on electric power alone, the electric motor provides torque to assist the petrol engine when needed. It also uses braking technology, which charges the mild hybrid's battery by capturing energy that’s usually lost when you slow down. This helps increase your fuel economy and reduce emissions.
